The Viking Village features a very special smoke sauna!

The smoke sauna building was constructed in place of an old sauna and comes with its own powerful legend. It is located away from the main Viking building (approx. 100 m), right on the bank of the Pirita River. The sauna sits privately in the forest, where your group can peacefully enjoy nature and sauna delights on your own.

On the ground floor of the sauna house, there is an anteroom with a large table that seats 14–15 people. The smoke sauna bench fits 10 people at a time, and naturally, you are welcome to use sauna whisks to your heart’s content.

The sauna has a proper washroom with two showers, and you can also take a refreshing dip in the Pirita River, accessible via a sturdy staircase.

There is no need to worry about getting soot on yourself, as we always wash the bench clean after heating and cover it with fresh linens.

If your sauna session runs late, you don’t need to worry about driving home, as the second floor of the sauna house sleeps up to 11 people. It is a cozy place to spend the rest of the night so you can head home the next morning with a fresh and rested head.

Sauna guests can rent a hot tub on the terrace for an additional fee (sometimes mistakenly referred to as a barrel sauna). We heat the hot tub to 38–40°C for your preferred time, after which you can easily keep an eye on the heating yourselves.

Next to the smoke sauna is a covered shelter so that in good weather, you don’t have to sit inside—you can chat in the fresh air and enjoy your sauna drinks instead. Additionally, smoke sauna guests can use a grill or order various dishes directly from the Viking Village tavern.
